Changes in Personal Habits Email
Medicine addiction can cause drastic behavioral changes.

Any drug addicted person’s habits will go through significant changes as their addiction progresses.  These will be changes at home, with family, in personal grooming and more.  Addictive behaviors begin to become apparent.

Perhaps the suspected addict is extremely unkempt, where he or she used to present themselves immaculately.  Perhaps they no longer want to participate in activities that used to be of interest to them – like playing with the kids or going out bowling.  Their work or grades are suffering, or they’ve begun missing days at school or work.

A sudden change in sleep patterns can also signal chemical dependence or addiction.  Patterns of sleep can turn completely around with periods of activity from dusk until dawn and then sleep until late afternoon.

Drug addiction causes the user to adopt additional destructive tendencies, like popping painkillers to get over a hangover, drinking excessive alcohol or even suicidal behavior.
