Heroin is coming back in a big way. There are several reasons for this and one is the number of people addicted to prescription pain killers who are "graduating" to the illegal and powerfull destroyer of lives, JUNK.

Worldwide production of heroin remains high and purity of Mexican heroin is on the rise.

Heroin production in Mexico appears to be increasing. Decreases in production were noted in Southeast Asian countries (Burma, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam)

These factors are pertinent to the abuse of medical drugs for a reason. All opiates affect the body in similar ways and herion is just one of the possible substitutes if an addicted person finds their supply of Oxycontin, Vicodin and other opioid pain killer has dried up.

Many heroin addicts have started their addiction "careers" through abuse or over-use of legal, prescribed pain medications.
